Why We Give?

We give because God commands that we do.  God is merciful and gracious to his people, even when do not deserve it. God is beneficent and kind. God loved us enough to send his Son, who loved us enough to die in our place.

We should Tithe, meaning we should give to the household of faith i.e. church. The tithe is one-tenth of our income. We should also give an offering. When we come before the king, we should offer something to Him. (Malachi 3:8-12)

Giving is an expression of gratitude and appreciation. Our giving is not to endear ourselves to God for heavenly gain, but to express our love for a God, who first loved us.
